About Me

Azaël Iloki — Sworn Translator & Language Expert in Lomé

“Words that carry.
Precision that matters.

My name is Azaël Iloki. I’m a sworn translator and language expert based in Lomé, accredited by the Cour d’appel de Lomé. Much of what reaches my desk carries real legal, financial or personal weight for the person or organisation sending it — an immigration file for an English-speaking country, an academic credential that unlocks a place at a foreign university or the financial reports and internal documents that guide a company’s operations. That responsibility, far more than the technical side of translation, is what shapes how I work.

Background & approach

01

What I do

I translate and certify official documents with the official stamp of a translator sworn before the Cour d’appel de Lomé — in the format embassies, consulates, universities and government bodies require.

Corporate & institutional: financial audits, internal documentation, commercial contracts and court rulings.

Personal & academic: civil-status records, diplomas and transcripts for immigration, study and relocation.

Alongside translation, I teach. Since 2022 I’ve been an instructor at the Institut Français du Togo. In parallel, I lead private courses for adults — professionals, expatriates, immigration candidates and students preparing for the BAC and BEPC — guiding each learner from A1 through C2.

02

Why precision matters

I was drawn to languages early, and I stayed for a simple reason: it’s one of the few crafts where precision and listening matter in equal measure. A single poorly chosen word in a cross-border contract can carry real financial or compliance consequences. A misjudged tone in a classroom can make a learner give up. The work demands both, constantly — and that is exactly what keeps me in it.

How we work together

Simple intake — you reach me directly on WhatsApp or by secure email. We outline the project, what the document is for and your deadline.

Fast, clear quote — you receive a transparent quote within 2 working hours, with no obligation.

Confidential handling — your files stay in a secure, encrypted folder, pass through no third-party hands and are permanently deleted thirty days after delivery. Only the register of certified translations — number, date, document type and language pair — is kept indefinitely, and it holds no document content.

Compliant delivery — you receive the finished translation, the official stamp, signature and a proper invoice.

If you’re compiling an official file, evaluating a language service for your organisation, planning training for your team or simply curious — welcome. I’d rather begin with a conversation; the quote comes after. And if anything ever feels off, we talk about it.

04

Verifying my sworn status

I am registered with the Cour d’appel de Lomé, court-sworn since 2024. My current registration reference is 014/AFA. The registration is held by the Cour d’appel de Lomé, which is the register of record.

This reference is renewed periodically — every six to twelve months. An older translation may therefore carry a different reference without its validity being in question.

Are you a court registry, an authority or a law firm? To confirm that a translation genuinely carries my stamp, reach me on +228 79 71 62 58 or write to [email protected], quoting the date on the document. I reply within 2 working hours.
